A division of CSIRO is responsible for the accreditation of linemarking company occupational health & safety, quality assurance and environmental protection systems. Only accredited linemarking companies are able to work on RMS projects / contracts. Retention of accreditation is subject to regular audit.
Although the linemarking industry is relatively small, we have a strong industry association which sets behavioural standards, develops training programs and continue to lobby for the recognition of improvement in road safety from quality linemarking applications. All state road authorities support the association.
Set quality standards for all linemarking parameters including line type, materials, testing etc. The general specification for pavement marking is R141 and high performance markings R145.
Weather conditions play an important role in determining whether linemarking applications should proceed or continue. Adverse weather can affect adhesion and wear characteristics of the markings.
